
Training is one of the strategic resources of the Santa Croce sull'Arno tanning district, confirming that it is able to promote the match between labour supply and demand thanks to the synergy among companies, institutions, training agencies and schools. That is just what has been portrayed by data and numbers collected during the event " Formazione nella filiera concia calzatura " (Training in the Tanning/Shoe supply chain) on Tuesday, 11th September, an event promoted by Poteco together with the Forium, Istituto Cattaneo - San Miniato, Associazione Conciatori, Consorzio Conciatori - Ponte a Egola, Toscana Manifatture ed Assa.
A strategic synergy between enterprise and institutions. The tanning district confirms itself able to propose choices for a concretely useful training, as well as for translating the needs of an entire production chain. It is one of the most positive examples also in terms of "working as a system" and sharing the best training practices among institutions, schools and enterprises": says Cristina Grieco, Regional Minister for Education, present at the event to deliver the certificates of participation to the students who carried out training courses at POTECO last year, it serves as a focal point for the district training system linked to the leather supply chain, thanks to an articulated offer of courses, from those for employed, unemployed or dropouts, to those funded by the Region of Tuscany: "The numbers that are going to be illustrated today - says Giulia Deidda, president of the Polo Tecnologico Conciario - confirm the good job done in previous years in this centre which has developed to synthesize the needs and proposals of the different actors of the world of training and work".
Almost 80% are the employed at the end of the last training courses carried out in the Polo Tecnologico, as explained by Francesca Ciampalini, for the training agency Forium, among the most active partners of the POTECO in the commitment to intercept changes and needs of the labour market, thanks to the constant confrontation with the associations of tanning and footwear entrepreneurs and schools, with which in the district there is an open site of ideas and new solutions for students, as explained by the headmaster of the ITC Cattaneo Alessandro Frosini who illustrated the new specific vet courses activated in his school. Cristiana Bruni, from the Region of Tuscany management and accounting department, spoke about training opportunities and courses in progress in the tanning district, she wished that the training model of the tanning district could be replicated also in other realities.
