Production Monitoring, production and consumption processes and precautions in the use of chemical substances with the aim of enhancing eco-sustainable approaches in different industrial sectors, including tanning. These are some of the parameters which fall within the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) programmatic platform, shared by some top world brands and which is progressively involving individual companies and international trade associations.
The Associazione Conciatori has promoted the meeting "Chemistry and Sustainability" held at POTECO in recent days in collaboration with ZDHC. The event, attended by many tanning companies of the territory, was coordinated by the ZDHC South Europe director, Alessandra Tortora and it was an opportunity to deepen the structure, vision and tools related to the implementation of the ZDHC programmatic platform. These are the eligible parameters that ZDHC identifies in the industrial processes to consider dangerous or prohibited certain chemicals, with the aim of enhancing a sustainable approach in the fashion sector that minimizes the dispersion of hazardous substances into the environment.
«Sustainability - says the director of Associazione Conciatori, Aldo Gliozzi -represents for us a crucial prerequisite on which strategies have been defined for the District where good practices meet high standards: we believe that becoming ZDHC contributor will further enhance our experience and reward the performance of both individual companies and consortium industrial plants».
