“The generational passage, between tools and strategies to plan the best succession paths in the company”. This was the topic discussed by numerous guests present on Saturday, 14 September at the event promoted by ASSITECA, an Italian insurance broker leading risk management consultancy, and UBS together with the Gruppo Giovani Conciatori (Young Tanning Entrepreneurs), which took place at the Frescobaldi estate in Perano Gaiole in Chianti.
From the management of economic aspects to the overcoming of critical issues and risks related to company succession, through the different family coaching approaches aimed at the multiple psychological profiles that emerge during the generational transition: these are some of the many in-depth ideas discussed during the event. This is a case study that comes right from the district of Santa Croce sull’Arno, with the historic tannery: "Nuti Ivo spa" presented as an efficient model of generational passage process.
Luca Neri, account executive and credit specialist of ASSITECA Florence, and Claudio Fabiani, Florence branch head UBS Europe SE, opened the work by outlining the different contexts in which the generational passage within a company can be placed. They came before Stefano Modena’s, ASSITECA Consulting, and Domenico Capone’s, wealth planning advisory UBS Europe SE speech,
Matteo Gritti, Vera Consulting, delved into the emotional dimension of the generational passage, before Silvio Bianchi Martini’s speech, Director of The Department of Economics and Management at the University of Pisa. He had the task of presenting the Nuti’s tannery case study, managed to consolidate over the years as one of the most solid in the sector also thanks to the effective management of the generational passage: from its historic founder, Ivo Nuti, whose memory is still strong in the entire district, to his sons Andrea and Fabrizio, now at the helm of the company.
"The generational passage is a cross-cutting topic of great interest - says Fabrizio Nuti, present at the event - and it involves much more medium and small companies like those in the district, which are often family businesses where a proper management of the generational passage is fundamental to the company's history and must therefore be planned in the best way."
