From the major international fashion schools to the Polo Tecnologico Conciario: visit to the experimental shoe conveyor and tannery for students of “Craft the Leather”, a training project addressed to designers from all over the world and aimed at promoting vegetable tanned leather in Tuscany. Now in its seventh edition, “Craft the Leather” consists of a fascinating course of study that also takes students to visit companies and plants of the tanning district of Santa Croce sull’Arno, among these the Polo Tecnologico Conciario, where the director Castiello welcomed a visit that ended with a study session on the footwear process, in the presence of the director of Toscana Manifatture, Gianluca Papini. The tutor Diane Becker accompanied the students, together with Barbara Mannucci, of the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium, which promotes the project “Craft the leather”.
