The tanning district of Santa Croce Sull'arno still on TV. The RAI cameras of the TV programme "Il posto giusto" (The Right Place) switched again on the Polo Tecnologico Conciario to tell Francesco Martinelli’s story. He is a student of grade 5BC of the ITC Cattaneo (a local high school), who was filmed during his hours of Internship in a tannery and in the laboratories of POTECO (on the Facebook page " Distretto Santa Croce " you will find the link to watch the video). Among his activities school, football and free time, his experience served as guide to talk about the district training system that finds in the ITC Cattaneo and the Polo Tecnologico Conciario two of its excellences. "A supply chain training -says the director of Assoconciatori, Aldo Gliozzi - that networks experiences and needs of all the actors of the sector transferring to the students knowledge and transversal key competences".
From high school to university, starting already at Middle school with the educational project “Amici per la Pelle”: The structured supply chain training in the district contributes to the precious balance between labour demand and offer of the sector, for the benefit of students and trainees who are usually able to find good employment opportunities, and entrepreneurs looking for specialised figures. And while at POTECO experimental shoe-conveyor and tannery, the training courses related to the various professional figures of the sector are carried on, coming weeks it will be time for the final stage of Amici per la pelle, edition 2018-19 with the presentation of the leather works made by the grade two students of the local middle schools participating in the project.
